My original research paper, titledU.S. Peacetime Submarine Accidents grew out of an interest in maritime accidents writ large. I originally made it available on-line in 1996 as (what I hoped was, and still is) an unbiased, impartial look at some of the most heart-wrenching incidents in U.S. Naval History. In the past 8 years, it has grown beyond my wildest dreams.

My primary collecting interest is Naval action figures, but I also collect naval covers from submarines, battleships, missile cruisers, and other surface combat ships.

I am a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve.  I am also a former elisted Naval Reservist (Gunner's Mate - Guns First Class). (However, the opinions expressed on this web site are strictly personal, and are not endorsed by the U.S. Navy in any way.)

I have a bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation from Texas A&M University at Galveston in Galveston, TX. I also received a Third Mate's License, Steam or Motor Vessels, Any Gross Tons, Oceans. I am currently the urator and Education Director at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum, home of the historic submarine USS Razorback (SS-394)
